What Wingshooting Options are there in Uruguay?

Uruguay Duck Hunting - full day duck hunting at 2 lodges with Los Gauchos Outfitters. Available May to September in the northeast part of Uruguay.

Uruguay Dove Hunting - full day high volume dove hunting in Uruguay - available year round and 3 lodges in the northwest part of Uruguay.

Uruguay Perdiz Hunting - 1/2 day Upland hunting combined with Uruguay dove hunting or Uruguay duck hunting. Available May to July 31st.

What do you need to travel to Uruguay?

A current passport that does NOT expire within 6 months of entering / exiting Uruguay.

Are Guns provided or do I bring my Shotgun?
What is the fee?

Guns are provided at no extra charge with Los Gauchos Uruguay Wingshooting destinations. Please contact us for the up to date stock of shotguns. We have a variety of Benelli, Beretta 12 gauge and 20 gauge shotguns. If you have a special need (long arms, short arms, young shooter) please think about bringing your own gun. It is simple and safe.

Shotgun Shells - Can I bring my own?

No. You cannot travel to any South America country, including Uruguay, with shotgun shells. You purchase your shotgun shells and pay for them after the last hunting day in Uruguay.

Payments accepted include USD cash, checks (*check the lodge or your invoice*), and some DO accept credit cards (PLEASE contact us to verify the acceptance of credit cards and the fees associated with accepting US credit cards for shotgun shell payments.)

What Brand or Type of Shotgun Shells do you provide for Uruguay Wingshooting?

We stock 12 and 20 gauge shells at our Uruguay Duck Hunting and Uruguay Wingshooting destinations in the following shot sizes:

• 12 gauge: #1, #3, #5, and 7.5 and/or 8.
  
  
• 20 gauge: #5 and 7.5 or 8 only
  
  
• 28 gauge: please inquire; only # 7.5 or 8 is available (*extra fee)
  
  
• 16 gauge: please inquire, only # 7.5 or 8 is available.
  
  
• 410 gauge: not available at waterfowl destinations

Plugs are never required in your shotguns while hunting in Uruguay. We suggest you leave them at home. Just don’t forget to put them back in before hitting the hunting fields in the US!

Are single rooms available?

The Rio Branco Uruguay Duck Hunting Club is double occupancy.

The Fortin Lodge (Uruguay ducks and duck-Perdiz hunting) can offer single rooms for a fee of $25 per night.

The Estancia Elena can also provide single occupancy rooms for $25/night. This is based on availability - please contact Los Gauchos Outfitters (214) 295 5281 OFFICE PHONE or by email: susan@losgauchos.com to reserve the single rooms.
